About the Journal

LIETUVOS ARCHEOlogija is an international, peer-reviewed scientific journal dedicated to publishing original research articles on the archaeology of Lithuania and the Baltic region, as well as studies from European archaeology that have connections to this part of the world.

The journal seeks to advance archaeological knowledge by publishing analyses of archaeological material, the results of recent archaeological excavations, and discussions on theoretical and methodological approaches. The journal welcomes publications covering various chronological periods, starting with prehistory and finishing with the modern era. In addition to research articles, the journal features reviews of archaeological books, articles, scientific events (conferences, seminars) and discussions.

The journal is published annually by the Lithuanian Institute of History. Texts are provided in Lithuanian and English.

LIETUVOS ARCHEOlogija has been published regularly for more than 40 years, since 1979.

Call for papers

Lithuanian Institute of History invites scholars to submit original scientific articles to Lietuvos archeologija, the leading peer-reviewed archaeological journal in Lithuania with over 40 years of publication history.

The journal welcomes contributions on:
